Tavira
Tavira is a charming small town with the river Gilâo running through the centre under a very historic Roman bridge.
The remains of an old castle and several churches.
You may find an abundance of restaurants and pavement café's on either side of the lovely old bridge.
Small ferry boats leave regularly for the long sandy beach of Tavira Island.
The meandering streets lead to a riverside park and square where there is often public entertainment on summer evenings, at other times, piped classical music is to be heard around the town.
St Luzia
St Luzia is a picturesque and quaint small fishing town where you may promenade in the evenings and eat at one of the many restaurants.
Fuzeta
This charming beach side town with lovely square and surrounding beaches and restaurants.
Olhâo
Olhâo is a large busy town with a great waterfront area and the best fish markets.
Faro
Here you may walk around the charming old quarter as well as visiting the modern shopping centre with multiplex cinema.
You are also close to the marina and airport.
Villa San Real
The closest border town to Spain where you may purchase specialist linen and towels in the large variety of shops and eat in street cafés and restaurants whilst watching the world go by.
Ayamonte
The first border town in Spain, easy to cross the bridge to visit this beautiful old town with traditional tiled houses and modern marina. Here you can sample Spanish tapas for lunch!
